Man On The Ground#52! An ATM Changes Lives Of People In Lanao Del Sur

Mataling, Malabang, Lanao del Sur – On the way back to Kidapawan City today from a 3-day campaign sortie in the Zamboanga Peninsula, my team took a late lunch in the Matling carenderia.
Nakita ko uli yong isa sa mga projects ko bilang Chairman ng Mindanao Development Authority inside the Matling Compound, an ATM of the Development Bank of the Philippines.
This is one of the three units established by DBP on the request of MinDA as part of its banking access program.
The two others are in the town hall of Balabagan and Malabang while two other units were established later in Taraka.
Before the ATMs were established, workers of the Cassava Starch factory Matling Corp. and the people of Malabang and Balabagan had to travel 2 hours to either Cotabato City or Pagadian for their bank transactions.
Ngayon, they can withdraw their salaries and farmers can get payments for their Cassava through the ATM.
