This morning, the Barangay Captain of a big vegetable and pineapple production village in South Cotabato visited me in Kidapawan City to learn more about Sorghum and Soybeans farming.
Chairman Pablito “Watong” Escobillo of Miasung, Tupi, South Cotabato said that he had been following my posts on Sorghum and Soybeans.
He wanted to know if I could share with him the technology so his village farmers could adopt the two new crops.
May pera ang mga farmers sa Miasung at kaya nilang magpatanim without financing.
We agreed to start with a demo farm for both crops.
While we were in our Soybeans Demo Farm in Luvimin, Kidapawan City, I referred to Chairman Matong the disease which caused the wilting of young Soybeans.
Since he is an experienced vegetable farmer, he immediately identified the disease to be caused by fungus which could be prevented by any systemic fungicide.
He learned from me and I also learned from him.
