Marketing Agency! Reactivate, Expand NFA To Serve As Export Firm

The National Food Authority (NFA) which was emasculated by the Rice Tariffication Law and relegated to just a rice buffer stocking agency is the only Philippine government trading agency recognized by the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Ang problema lang ay naging masyadong focused ito sa palay at bigas lang and had not even engaged in the buying of other agricultural products like corn.
Dapat ma-expand ang area of operations ng NFA at gawin itong marketing and export agency ng ating pamahalaan para maghanap ng mga merkado ng ating produkto abroad.
Ang Pilipinas lang ang isa sa mga bansa sa Asia na walang ahensya ang gobyerno na tumutulong sa mga agricultural and fisheries stakeholders na makapaghanap ng export market.
Ang mga Cavendish, Pineapple and other agricutture and fisheries producers of the country have to look for markets for their products abroad.
Ang mga Bangus exporters for example nagsasabi na malaki ang demand abroad but they need to be assisted because they could not individually deal with buyers abroad.
Kaya palaging kawawa ang ating mga agricultural producers because they are always at the mercy of foreign buyers.
Kailangan buhayin uli ang NFA and transform it into a marketing, trading and exporting agency of our government para makatulong sa paglpapalago ng ating agriculture and fisheries.
