A careless act by one of the farm boys by moving a steel cage where I kept my Broadbreasted Turkey breeders broke the leg of one of three males.
When I checked on the injury, it was already gangrenous.
To save the male breeder, I decided to amputate the lower left leg.
Since we will be using Artificial Insemination in Turkey breeding, his injury will not incapacitate him as a breeder.
What I will do is to make an artificial leg as soon as the wound heals.
He will be our Captain Barbossa in the Braveheart Farms.
