Our dream of an inclusive national growth and development could only be realized if we balance our economic goals with meaningful social programs.
Kaya nga ang buod ng governance is Socio-Economic Development of the country.
Hindi puedeng puro na lang inflation numbers ang titingnan ng ating mga Economic Policy Makers.
Dapat balansehin so that while we look after the welfare of our consumers, we also take care of the lives of the people who produce food for this country.
I am making this bold contention again: Agriculture and Fisheries are the driving force for this country to attain inclusive economic growth and prosperity.
Let us not dream of manufacturing airplanes or cars because we have not even developed our local steel industry.
It will take years before we could catch up with the technological advancements of other countries.
But if we focus on agricultural and fisheries production, it will only take a few years and there will be enough food for everybody at kung may sobra, we could even be a major food exporter.
That could make us a food production powerhouse in the region and we will be able to open up income opportunities and jobs for our people.
Kailangan lang natin ng boses para makipaglaban na dapat mas malakiing budget allocation at attention ang ibibigay sa sektor na ito.
I am offering myself to the Filipino people to champion this cause in the Senate.
Madaling mangyari ito sapagkat lahat ng Presidential Candidates ngayon, directly or indirectly, are already expressing support for my advocacies.
(Thank you to ANC Ms. Karen Davila for allowing me to express my thoughts on this issue and share these with the Filipino people.)
