Three weeks ago, I engaged an IT team to conduct a Drone Mapping of a portion of a former Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Camp in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
The initial Drone Map covered 700 hectares of largely unused area, identifying in detail the arable portions.
The 3D map will also indicate the contours and elevation.
The area is called Camp Ibahim Sema, named after a slain MNLF Commander and brother of former Cotabato City Mayor Muslimen Sema.
Outside of the 700 hectares, lies an even larger tract of uncultivated land which could run to thousands of hectares.
The area will be planted to Sorghum and later Soybeans which will be implemented by two companies, the Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc. for Sorghum and Vetmate Farma Corp. for Soybeans.
Former Cong. Bai Sandra Sema, a member of the Sinsuat Clan, heads the project which she hopes will help improve the lives of former rebels.
Just like the other Integrated Farming System Models which I designed, the project aims to develop a Cattle Production Program, including Small Ruminants.
