There is excitement in the air as we look forward to the first large scale Sorghum harvest of the Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc. (SAAV Inc.) set 2nd week of December.
Former Senator Ping Lacson, SAAV Inc. Chairman, will lead the ceremonial harvest along with Agriculture, Local Officials and farmers’ groups.
Simultaneously, Sorghum Silage from the green stalks and leaves will also be produced for Cattle and Goat Raisers.
SAAV Inc., a new agricultural company which I, Sen. Lacson, Fil-Am farmer-scientist Rocky French and 4 other friends formed a few months ago has embarked on several interrelated agriculture and aquaculture projects to contribute to the Food Security Program of the country.
Sorghum is one the five most important grains in the world used for feed production for hogs, poultry and livestock.
It is drought tolerant and allows three harvests with just one planting.
