A CANDIDATE’S DIARY, DAY 16: A HAIRCUT, A MOVIE ON FAMILY DAY

Even in the heat of the campaign, I decided to take time out yesterday to get a haircut and spend a day with my family, including a movie with my young daughter, JB.
With my wife and son, Imman, far away for a long vacation, only my two daughters, Josa and Krista and the latter’s husband, Chito, are left to spend Sunday with me.
Since Dr. Ma. Krista was in a medical mission yesterday and her husband was on duty at the Davao Airport, it was only Josa and I who went to the movies and watched Tom Cruise’s “Oblivion.”
After the movie, Josa and I shared a slice of chocolate cake at the BluGre coffee corner in SM Davao where I related to her my experiences in the campaign.
Like the inquisitive girl that she always has been, Josa was delighted at my accounts of how people react to my presence in the sorties I made.
I have never been as comfortable as I am now in my political campaigning. Things seem so light. With people themselves thanking me for running for Governor and carrying the campaign, all that I need to do is just to be there wherever they want me to be.
Last night, I went to sleep early in the comfort of my home and woke up early to catch the telecast of “The Masters” in Augusta where young Adam Scott made history as the first Australian to win the coveted green jacket.
Today, I am off to another long week of the campaign, refreshed and strengthened by my children’s kisses and hugs and my people’s love.
