On the day Muslims around the world marked Eid al-Adha, the culmination of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and commemoration of Abraham’s sacrifice, I joined the Iranuns of Alamada, Cotabato in launching the Sorghum Program in historic Sitio Rebi, Barangay Pigcawaran.
Today was the third straight day I spent with the Iranun farmers who embraced Sorghum farming after suffering losses from planting “Kalabasa” and Corn.
Of the initial 50 hectares committed to the program, two hectares were planted today.
Pigcawaran Barangay Chairman Yasser Arat joined the launching of the program today.
