The smile on my face in this photo taken in the lobby of Tokyo’s Imperial Hotel is an indication of the successful State Visit of President Rody Duterte to Japan.
Soon, we will be able to provide modern planting, harvesting and drying facilities for our grains farmers in the country.
The Japanese government has expressed willingness to support our farm mechanization and modernization program.
They have also opened their market, through Farmind Corp., to an estimated 20 million boxes of Cavendish bananas every year.
I and my Japanese counterpart also talked about long term loans for the completion of our farm to market road networks and fisheries post harvest and processing facilities.
Many more projects are expected to be started and these are enough reasons to smile.
