The community feedmill owned by an association of livestock and poultry farmers in Kidapawan City will start processing Aqua Feeds by February, including a small volume of chicken and hog feeds for its members.
The Cotabato Livestock Producers Association feed mill will be using available local feed materials with additional microminerals in producing mainly Aqua feeds to address the shortage of supply in the Southern Mindanao Area.
It will also produce poultry and hog feeds for the members of the association which was actually the original intent of the project when it was conceptualized and presented to the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Animal Industry in 2017.
The COLIPA Village Feed Mill is just one of the many established during my 3-year stint as Secretary of Agriculture and at least one unit is operating efficiently in Antique.
The concept is to boost the profitability of poultry and livestock raising through locally produced feeds using available materials, including the corn and sorghum production of farmers in the area.
