Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro – A group of Mangyan farmers, whom I met in my Biyaheng Bukid as Secretary of Agriculture 5 years ago, traveled for hours from Bulalacao town today to thank me for the 25 heads of Carabaos they received from government.
Led by tribal leader Onaw, who was joined by two other leaders Hatay and Ruben, the Mangyans took a public transport to catch up with a farmers‘ forum arranged by Mayor Elgin Malaluan in Bongabong.
“Maraming salamat sa bigay mong mga kalabaw at marami na ang nanganak,” Onaw said.
He also said that a 10-kilometer farm to market road which was part of my commitment was also completed.
Their village had also been connected to the power lines.
