6-YEAR GENETIC EXPERIMENT
PRODUCES ‘MANOK PINOY ‘

Several years ago, I started a genetic experiment on how to improve the Philippine native chicken which is preferred by Filipinos because of its distinct taste and firm meat.
I wanted to increase its egg-laying capability and put more meat in its frame, both weak points of the native chicken.
Today, I have fully developed my own chicken breed which I have named “Manok Pinoy,” a name which is registered with the Intellectual Property Office.
“Manok Pinoy” will be distinctive not only because it has retained the taste of the native chicken but because they will come out black and dark-colored.
Today, after a stressful week addressing the problems caused by Typhoon “Ompong” and the high prices of rice and vegetables, I finally found time to visit my farm in Kidapawan City.
Here, I am sharing with you a video of the 2-month-old cockerels, all black, which will be my future breeders.
Seeing them today somehow relieved me of the fatigue after a week-long hard work.
