FAST CATTLE FATTENING PROGRAM

Early this morning, General Santos City-based cattleman Arnel Corpuz sent me the link to a video posted on YouTube.com which showed him giving pointers on how to fatten cattle in just 100 days.

Arnel is a former feed lot manager of huge cattle ranches in Australia before he decided to pack up his bag and return home.

I met him during the Presidential Campaign of 2016 and he was one of those who worked hard to convince his fellow Overseas Filipino Workers to support then Mayor Rody Duterte.

Actually, after I was appointed Agriculture Secretary, I offered him a post in government, specifically in the livestock program because of his experience but he preferred to stay in the private sector.

Today, he and a partner operate the Adelaide Farms in South Cotabato where they fatten about 400 young cattle at any given time which they buy from local farmers.

Arnel says his feeding method results in massive weight gain from 350 kilos to 500 kilos in just 100 days.

Last night, when I met him here in General Santos City where I will be attending the National Shrimps Congress today, I asked him to help by sharing his knowledge on cattle fattening.

Arnel said he would be more than willing to give on-farm lectures on how to effectively fatten cattle.
