Aid for Marawi CHARITY GROUPS DONATE 285,000 CANS OF HALAL FOOD By Manny Piñol

A total of 285,000 cans of Ready-to-Eat Halal Chicken Rice Meal made in Davao City and donated by nine charitable groups and corporations was sent to Marawi City yesterday for the thousands of displaced residents as well as government troops involved in the campaign against an extremist terror group.
The canned 911 Foods RTE meals manufactured by Davao’s Ana Breeders Farm come in three recipes – Chicken Afritada, Chicken Adobo and Chicken Curry – and were prepared observing Halal standards.
Yesterday’s shipment was the second since Davao entrepreneur Jonathan Suy and his family started producing the RTE meals using locally produced chicken and rice.
Suy and the donor companies formally turned over to the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries in simple ceremonies in Davao City before the trucks loaded withthe food aid left for a 10-hour land triptoMarawi City.
The processing of the canned RTE meals is done in Davao City.
Donors of yesterday’s shipment were:
– Cargill Pihilipiines Inc. – 38,292 cans;
– Te So Ten Elsen GMBH & Co.KG- 11,000 cans;
– R.Dan & Co. Inc- 10,000 cans;
– Santienz Philippines Inc.-10,000 cans;
– Zamil Steel Buildings Vietnam Co.LTD-5,000 cans;
– Euroasiatic Philippines Inc.-3,000 cans;
– SKOV a/s- 1,487 cans;
– Modudrive Industrial Corp.-1,000 cans.
– Christ Commission Fellowship- 205,000 cans.
Suy said his company and the donors will continue to send canned RTE meals to support President Rody Duterte’s efforts to provide food to Marawi City and Lanao del Sur residents displaced by the conflict.
