Amazing development DUTERTE TRUST RATING SOARS IN METRO MANILA

By Manny Piñol
The taxi drivers, jeepney drivers, restaurant waiters and small businessmen were right all along – Mayor Rody Duterte is the man they can trust to lead this country as President.
In a development which surprised even the most seasoned political analysts, Duterte’s trust rating soared to a very high 71% in Metro Manila.
The figures validated what was earlier seen as a visible mass support for Duterte in Metro Manila.
Face-to-face interviews with taxi drivers, small business owners and wage earners said they trusted Duterte because of his uncompromising position against drug dealers and criminals.
“Trust is more enduring that popularity,” said former Mindanao Presidential assistant Paul Dominguez who briefed the Davao City Mayor and his close-in staff Friday night in Davao City.
In a recent survey conducted by a polling firm, Duterte, who has yet to declare his final decision on the Presidency, jumped from 11% to 21% in voter’s preference in Metro Manila.
A Rappler report said “it showed that from June to September, preference for Duterte in the region rose from 10% to 21% despite the absence of a formal declaration of his candidacy and even a public announcement that he was out of the presidential race.”
“In contrast, leading presidential candidate Grace Poe was said to have suffered a 16-point drop during the same time period in the region although she maintained her lead at 26%.
“Vice President Jejomar Binay, at 22%, was statistically tied with Duterte. Manuel “Mar” Roxas came in 4th place for NCR voters with a score of 10%, said Banayo. But in Rappler’s report of the survey, Roxas garnered 11% in NCR.”
The unusually high trust rating for Duterte in Metro Manila is believed to be a result of his record of incorruptibility and his accomplishment in making Davao City one of the World’s Safest Cities.
Dominguez, a veteran of many Presidential campaigns, said Metro Manila’s political leaning and preference traditionally influence the neighbouring provinces including the Southern Tagalog region, referred to as Mega Manila.
With his trust rating soaring in both Metro Manila and Mindanao and his ethnic bailiwick of Eastern Visayas behind him, Duterte is expected to give the three other Presidential candidates a tough fight in the 2016 elections should he decide to join the contest.
Duterte has recently declared that he was still going through a “soul-searching” process and consulting with the members of his family who oppose the call for the Davao City Mayor to run for President.
