For those who missed today’s Bigas ng Bayan TienDA which sold rice at only P38 per kilo, there is no reason to worry.
In view of the enthusiastic response of Metro Manila buyers, rice at P38 per kilo will now be available Monday to Friday at the Agribusiness Center in front of the Dept. of Agriculture Central Office on Elliptical Circle in Quezon City.
Farmers groups from all over Luzon have volunteered to support the program and sell their rice produce at lower price.
The Bigas ng Masa TienDA was launched today and as early as 7:30 am, people will already queueing up.
It is aimed at directly marketing farmers’ produce to consumers at prices lower than in private outlets.
Next week, the Agribusiness and Marketing Office of DA will open another outlet in the Bureau of Plant Industry office in San Andres, Manila.
