PRES. DUTERTE PLACES NFA,

PCA, FPA UNDER AGRI DEPT.

President Rody Duterte has returned the National Food Authority (NFA), the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) and the Fertilizer and Pesticides Authority (FPA) to the Department of Agriculture (DA).

The three agencies, along with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), were taken from the DA by President Benigno Aquino III and placed under the Office of the President.

Executive Order No. 62 signed by President Duterte on Sept. 17, 2018 was released by the Malacañang Records Office today, Sept. 19.

The Executive Order also reorganized the NFA Council making the Secretary of Agriculture as Chairman with the NFA Administrator as Vice Chairman.

Members of the NFA Council include, the Secretary of Finance, the Secretary of Trade and industry, the Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), the Social Welfare Secretary, the Governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the President of Land Bank and a farmers’ sector representative appointed by the President.
