Best Birthday Gift! Garlic Growing Successful In Alamada, North Cotabato

Yesterday, I received the best birthday gift I could ever wish for – pictures proving that we could grow Garlic in the highlands of Alamada, Cotabato.
Planted Sept. 10 by Ilocano Garlic farmers from San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, the Garlic was harvested at 95 days old.
It was actually a bit early but a portion of the two small plots planted to Garlic was accidentally hit by our tractor which plowed an adjacent field.
The pleasant surprise was finding out that even at 95 days old, the Garlic had developed cloves.
The Cloves are not in the best shape or appearance but I am certain we could improve the quality as we continue the learning process.
In 10 more days, the whole plot will be harvested.
Vetmate Farma Corporation owned by my friend German Panghulan should be given credit for this breakthrough in Garlic farming in Cotabato.
Now that it had been proven that Garlic could be grown in Alamada Highlands, an expansion program will start soon.
