Beware of extortion! SCAMMER POSING AS MANNY PIÑOL EXTORTING MONEY FROM PEOPLE

Over the last few days, I have received information that a man claiming to be Sec. Manny Piñol of the DA has been calling people who have transactions with the department and demanding money in exchange for contracts.

A cacao nursery operator reportedly sent through money transfer P30,000 because a man who sounded like me called him up to demand for money.

Another businessman from Batangas reportedly received another call from the same man asking for the transfer of P200,000 to a bank account.

I have forwarded all the information I received to PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa so he could direct the intelligence group of the PNP to monitor the activities and possibly arrest the suspect.

I am advising the public, especially those who have transactions with the Dept. of Agriculture that I have not and will never ask for money from those who do business with the DA.

Those who will receive calls from a man whose voice sounds like mine are advised to immediately save the number so it could be monitored.
