Parang Mayor Cahar Ibay yesterday offered a tax holiday and free use of the Illana Bay to a group of Filipino-Americans who intend to invest in Aquaculture Production.
“Importante sa aming may trabaho ang mga tao namin,” Mayor Ibay told me during a visit to his office yesterday.
Also present during the meeting were the members of the municipal council.
The investments which I am personally arranging involve retired Filipino-American U.S. Navy officers who expressed interest in helping their home country.
Led by Samson Mante whose family comes from Bohol, the group asked me to guide them in identifying investment opportunities in the Philippines.
I suggested Aquaculture Production because of a looming food supply crisis in the Philippines.
The proposed investments in Parang will include Ice-Making and Cold Storage Equipment, Aqua Feed Mill, Hatcheries and Processing and Packaging Facilities.
The project is expected to generate hundreds of jobs and boost fish production in the country.
