Police arrested tonight three men and a woman and seized P206,600 in cash believed to be intended for vote buying operations in my hometown M’lang, Cotabato.
The two men were identified as a certain Joel Bolero and Pasquin who were earlier holed up in a pick up vehicle in Barangay New Kalibo after they were cornered by policemen yielded after a lawyer and staff of North Cotabato Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza arrived to “rescue” them.
A certain Atty. Andiano and Jessie Enid, Governor Mendoza’s aide, arrived at the scene after policemen cornered the suspects.
Lawyers from PDP Laban and members of the media witnessed the recovery of bundles of money hidden in the hood of the pick up.
The suspects were brought to the Mlang Police Station.
This is not the first time that the Taliño Group has been linked to suspected vote buying operations.
Five days ago, two barangay chairmen were also arrested for transporting rice, money and campaign materials using a government vehicle.
Keep posted for updates.
(Photos show the money recovered by policemen and the pick up used by the suspects.)
