Officials of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) of the Department of Agriculture and officers of the National Federation of Hog Raisers have started scouting for service providers who could offer sniffing dogs to be used in Quarantine Operations against the African Swine Fever.
The dogs will be used to ferret out luggages containing meat products brought into the country without Sanitary and Pytho-Sanitary Permits.
The sniffing dogs will be assigned in airports and ports of entry all over the country to check on incoming meat products.
Video footages show the dogs in performance witnessed by Asst. Sec. Enrico Garzon and Hog Federation President Chester Tan.
