While mixing his materials for the production of Aqua Feeds today, Fil-Am farmer-scientist Rocky French discovered that the rice bran which was earlier bought from an agri store was adulterated.

Instead of pure rice bran, the protein-rich powdery by-product in the milling of palay, what was delivered was rice bran mixed with hammer-milled rice hull, the outer cover of the grain.

French said the adulteration would result in inferior quality feeds which in turn will adversely affect hog and poultry production.

French suggested that government should enforce tighter controls in the adulteration of raw materials for feeds.
