Cotabato Agri Modernization Starts With Soil Study, Tests

As I envision turning my home province, North Cotabato, into a modern Agriculture Powerhouse in the country, I have identified a province-wide Soil Study and Tests as the first step that must be taken.
This is an important aspect of Agriculture which had been overlooked and often times taken for granted.
Until today, farmers rely on unverified information on the nutritional deficiency of the soil in their farms leaving them guessing what fertilizer or soil ameliorants are needed.
Actually, I started this program when I was Secretary of Agriculture with the launching of the National Color Coded Agriculture Guide Map (www.farmersguidemap.da.gov.ph) in March 2017.
The NCCAG Map gave a general perspective on what crops are suitable in specific areas of the country which is now helping agricultural companies in identifying specific locations for their crops.
In the case of North Cotabato, I would like to obtain specific soil data which would be very critical in the planned Agricultural Modernization Program which I have designed.
Of course, this could only be implemented if I win the elections on May 12, God willing.
Just the same, I prepared this program so that on Day 1, I would be ready to jump from the starting block to start the long run to make my province an Agriculture Powerhouse and Model in the country.
