Early today, I felt sad seeing Weeds and Worms threaten a Block of our Soybeans Model Farm in Kidapawan City.
The fact that this happened in spite of my constant visits to the area, emphasizes the risks a farmer faces constantly.
An overnight attack by worms, especially during the critical flowering and fruiting stages, could be disastrous.
The farmer has to be vigilant and the interventions must be immediate.
This brings us to the problem of access to financing by farmers.
Kung wala syang ready na pondo, mapipilitan mangutang sa mataas na interes o sa mga traders na syang magdidikta ng presyo ng kanyang produkto.
