Thailand’s biggest agricultural conglomerate, Charoen Pokphand Foods, Philippines is urging Filipino farmers to produce quality Corn, Sorghum and Soybeans, important feed components as it expands its poultry and hog farms in the country.
Yesterday, I met with Kasamsuk “Toto” Patsanun, head of the Feeds Raw Materials Office, to ascertain the firm’s requirements for the coming year.
Along with Carl Esclamado, materials quality officer, Toto Patsanun said they will be sourcing more of their raw materials locally to help Filipino farmers.
CP Foods Phils.operates a feed mill in Polomolok, South Cotabato owned by General Santos Feedmill, Inc.
It imports its Soybeans requirements but it prefers to buy locally when our Soybeans would be available by early next year.
CP Foods is known to have strict standards but offers good price for quality Corn and Sorghum.
CP Foods said it will help educate farmers on how to produce quality grains for them to enjoy a good price.
