Filipino-American farmer-scientist Rocky French and I visited the Inca Mariculture Plastics owner Ralph Cabrera today in Muntinlupa, MM to provide inputs on how to improve the Aquaponics System introduced by the company.
This is part of our advocacy to achieve food sufficiency in the country by introducing Fish and Vegetable Production in urban areas using Aquaponics.
Ralph told Rocky that while the vegetable production of the system had been proven to be profitable, the fish production does not make much income.
An experienced Aquaculturist, Rocky shared his vast knowledge to improve the Inca Aquaponics Set-up.
On my suggestion, Ralph agreed to establish an Aquaponics System in the SAAV Inc. Hatchery in Kidapawan City to serve as learning model.
