Three days after then President-elect Rody Duterte announced that I would be the next Agriculture Secretary and exactly 51 days before I assumed office, I set off on a nationwide journey called Biyaheng Bukid.
The voyage started on May 19, 2016 from my farm in Paco, Kidapawan City and still continues until today.
I have been to the most unlikely places to be visited by a Cabinet Secretary like Sulu, Basilan, Tawitawi, Lanao del Sur and the Philippine Rise formerly known ad the Benham Risr.
With just a little over a month before I mark the first full year as Agriculture Secretary, I am left with just a few provinces still to be visited.
When I shall have done that, I will publish the chronicle of the nationwide journey in a book full of colorful photos titled Biyaheng Bukid: Journey of Love.
The book, my second after Feeding Millions will be launched sometime in July.
