In Klamath Falls, Or.
Shortly after arriving in San Francisco yesterday, I and my friend, Winchell Campos, rented a Mazda CX5 and drove all the way up to Klamath Falls City in Oregon to visit an old friend, James Clem, Jr.
Jim used to be a full-time gamefowl breeder until he had a brush with the law and shifted to dairy goat farming.
It was I who actually convinced him to go into dairy goat farming and he started with 30 heads.
He had as many as 1,000 heads but he had to scale down to about 300 milking does now because of the high cost of hay and feeds.
Through years of outstanding genetic combinations, he was able to breed does which produce 10 to 12 liters of milk dairy at peak period for as long as 10 months.
I asked Jim today if he could help me record instructional videos on dairy goat farming.
Of course, he said yes and we will start doing it tomorrow.
