Farmers’ Field Day! Soybeans Harvest Sept. 10 In Former Rebel Territory

Farmers of Alamada and the neighboring towns of Banisilan, Libungan, Pigcawayan and Wao, Lanao del Sur will be invited to a Farmers’ Field Day on Sept. 10 in the former rebel territory of Campo 11, Rangayen, Alamada to witness the harvesting of Soybeans.
A Combine Harvester will be used in the first 3-hectares of Soybeans planted last week of May 2023.
While the production level is not expected to reach our targeted yield, the Soybeans Harvest Festival will show the farmers the potentials of this highly imported agricultural commodity needed by the poultry and livestock industry for feeds production.
Alamada Mayor Jesus N. Sacdalan will lead local officials in the Harvest Festival which will also see the participation of prospective off-takers.
From the harvest, good seeds will be selected for replanting for the 3rd Cycle which is expected to cover 2,000 hectares by the First Quarter of 2024.
This early, Feed Mill Companies have already expressed interest in sourcing their Soybeans supplies from the production of farmers in Cotabato and soon in other parts of Mindanao.
