Festive weekend in Marawi SOLDIERS, POLICEMEN, MARINES FEAST ON CHICKEN IN WAR ZONE By Manny Piñol

Soldiers, Marines and policemen battling the terrorists in Marawi City enjoyed a festive weekend as they received the first shipment of Halal chicken on Saturday.
A total of 2,459.3 kg or 51 sacks of whole dressed chicken were delivered to Campo Ranao in Marawi City Saturday morning, Sept. 16.
The first shipment was turned-over to Lt. Col. Alexander S. Regenio, Head Logistics Suport Group/Task Force Ayuda.
Designated personnel from the Army, Marines and PNP combatants claimed their allocations by Unit.
A total of 12-tons of Halal chicken was shipped to Cagayaan de Oro City from Ana’s Breeder Farm.in Davao City last Friday.
This was kept in a cold storage facility in Cagayan de Oro and will be released weekly to the fighting men and women in the field.
Whiile the initial shipment was donated by Jonathan Suy of Ana’s Breeder Farm following the announcement of President Rody Duterte to supply the troops with chicken, the next shipment will be paid for by government through the Agriculture Department.
The supply of chicken will continue for as long as the fighting men are still in the battle field not only to boost their morale but mainly to provide them more nutritious food.
In the past, soldiers, Marines and policemen fight in the field with only canned goods and dried fish as their meal.ration.
Under President Duterte, they will enjoy a limitless supply of adobo, tinola and fried chicken.
