Field Lessons! Things To Do When Fungus Attacks Young Soybeans

Three days ago, as I was checking the growth of the new Soybeans variety in my trial plots, I saw some withered plants.
As soon as I saw it, I knew right away that my young Soybeans were under attack by fungus causing a disease “Damping Off.”
I was able to identify it right away because of our experience in a previous Soybean field in Luvimin, Kidapawan City
The sad thing about “Damping Off” is that there is no way the affected plants could be saved.
Those affected will have to be uprooted and burned or disposed properly to prevent the spread.
After I pulled out the affected plants, I instructed the boys to spray anti-fungal solution, Ridomil, on each hill of the young Soybeans.
The Damping Off was neutralized two days later.
It is important that the farmer learns from lessons in the field because it is critical in addressing farm problems.
