Finally! DA Provides Support For SAAVI Sorghum Program

The Department of Agriculture Region 12 will be allocating fertilizer support for Alamada farmers who will plant Sorghum.
DA Focal Person for Sorghum Program, Percy Suyu, said the fertilizer support will cover the first 50 hectares to be planted to Sorghum by the First Quarter of 2024.
She said the DA has recognized Sorghum, a grains crop promoted by the Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc., as one of the important crops to support the Poultry and Livestock Industry.
SAAVI is a young agri company primarily involved in Sorghum production which I, former Senator Panfilo Lacson and several friends formed last year.
Yesterday, Percy and the DA Technical Team joined me in inspecting several Demo Areas where we planted Indian Jowar or White Sorghum.
They were all impressed by the vigor of the standing Jowar and expressed optimism that Sorghum farming will be profitable for farmers in Alamada given its adaptability to the soil and climate of the area.
