The “Arms to Farms” Program launched 100 days ago which aims to turn Former Rebel camps into Food Production Zones marked a milestone yesterday with the first harvest of Sorghum in a Demo Farm in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del.Norte.
The harvest came 97 days after we planted the Sorghum and Soybeans in Barangay Benolen, DOS, which used to be part of Camp Ibrahim Sema of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
Former Congresswoman Bai Sandra Sema who sought my help in introducing livelihood projects joined me during the ceremonial harvest yesterday.
What made the event dramatic was the presence of former MNLF combatants who showed interest in Sorghum and Soybeans farming.
After the successful Sorghum and Soybeans Demo, the next step will be Halal Beef Production.
