For Mindanao Only! 2nd Cycle Sorghum Program Starts With 1,600 Hectares

With the arrival of our new Hybrid Sorghum seeds, our small company, Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc., is now ready to commence its second cycle of the Sorghum Development Program covering 1,600 hectares.
Due to our limited resources and also because the location of the processing facility is in Central Mindanao, the program will cover initially the different regions in Mindanao close to our area of operations.
Two varieties of Sorghum will be introduced to the farmers, the Sorghum Bicolor or Red Sorghum, and the Indian Jowar or White Sorghum.
Under the Contract Growing Scheme which we have designed, SAAVI will provide farmers with Sorghum seeds and assist them with guidance on proper planting technology.
SAAVI will also offer a Buy-Back Agreement to the farmers to assure them of a ready market for their Sorghum production.
Farmers in Central Mindanao and nearby areas who would like to join the program are advised to either visit our field operations center in Dado, Alamada or in Paco, Kidapawan City.
We will target 400 hectares every month starting February to be able to plant the seeds intended for 1,600 hectares for this year.
SAAVI extends its apologies to farmers outside of Mindanao who could not be served as of now because of our limited resources.
Hopefully, as our company, headed by our Chairman, former Senator Ping Lacson, grows, we will be able to extend the program to other parts of the country.
