For misuse of public funds SANDIGANBAYAN TO ARRAIGN VP BINAY WIFE, 2 NAPOLES KIDS

MANILA, Philippines – The anti-graft court is set to arraign next week Elenita Binay, the wife of Vice President Jejomar Binay, and the children of alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.

The Sandiganbayan Third Division ordered the arraignment of Elenita on Thursday, November 20, at 1:30 p.m., on graft and malversation charges in connection with alleged anomalous purchase of P8.83-million worth of medical equipment for the Ospital ng Makati when she was still the mayor of the city.

The 10-year-old graft and malversation complaints against Elenita were dismissed more than two years ago but were revived earlier this year by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) under the Office of the Ombudsman.

Also, the court’s Third Division set the arraignment of James Christopher Napoles and his sister Jo Christine on November 19, Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m.

James Christopher and Jo Christine, who are out on bail, are being accused of conspiring with their mother Janet in an alleged scheme that allegedly converted the multibillion-peso Priority Development Assistance Funds of lawmakers into kickbacks.
