Free seeds offered DA XII SAAD SETS UP SORGHUM INFO CENTER

In an effort to spread and share more information on the propagation of Sorghum, the Department of Agriculture has established an Info Center in front of the demo farm in San Nicolas, Makilala, North Cotabato.
The Info Center is manned by DA workers under the Special Area for Agricultural Develooment (SAAD) which handles the program.
Information about Sorghum, a feed grain grass whose grains are rich in protein higher than corn, is shared with passersby.
Free seeds good for one-fourth hectare are also given out for free to interested farmers.
Sorghum is being promoted by the DA as a complementary feed grains crop to corn to boost the growth of the livestock and poultry industry in the country.
Sorghum Demo Farms have been established all over the country.
The North Cotabato Sorghum Pilot Farm was launched on Nov. 18 last year and harvest is expected end of February this year.
I visited the Demo Farm today and I was happy with what I saw.
If only all DA Regional Offices could open roadside info centers, I am sure our farmers will learn a lot of things.
Congratulations DA XII and SAAD.
