Garlic Farming! (5th of a Series)

Five days after they arrived in North Cotabato, the 10 farmers from San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte planted Garlic in a 1-hectare Demo and Model Farm in San Nicolas, San Vicente, Makilala town today.
Joemer Salvador, team leader of the Garlic and Onion Farmers from Ilocos Norte said the soil in the Demo Farm is perfect for Garlic farming.
After applying Humic Acid, Complete Fertilizer, Guano and Chicken Manure, the area was covered with rice straws.
Afterwards, Garlic cloves were planted with a planting distance of 20 centimeters.
Harvest is expected 2nd week of January 2024.
