Since it had not rained for about 10 days now, we have started regular watering of our Garlic plots to ensure that there is enough moisture for the cloves to sprout.
We do this every three days.
This morning, we drenched the plots with Chicken Manure Slurry mixed with water.
The application has dual purpose – watering and applying organic fertilizer.
All the plots had been covered with straws from Talahib to serve as mulch.
The mulch will also help keep the moisture in the soil.
Everything that we do now we learned from the Ilocano Garlic farmers of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte who were engaged by Vetmate Farma Corp. to teach us how to plant Garlic.
