MANILA – Chief Superintendent Alexander Ignacio, chief of the Directorate for Plans of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has denied any links with Alyzza Agustin, one of the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World in 2013.
Agustin became controversial after posting on her Facebook account how she was able to avoid getting a ticket from a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) enforcer for violating the color coding scheme by flashing the calling card of the general.
Agustin bragged on her post how effective the card of her “Boss Alex” with the signed handwritten note: “PLS ASISST MY EA, ALYZZA AGUSTIN”.
In her Facebook post: “Nahuli nanaman ako dahil coding but because of you Boss Alex wala ng huli huli. Thank you so much sa napaka-useful mong card with matching dedication pa #happykid” (I was caught again because I violated the number coding, but because of you, Boss Alex, I was not apprehended. Thank you so much for this useful business card with matching dedication.)
Ignacio denied he personally knew Agustin.
“First of all, I categorically DENY that I personally know Alyzza Agustin, who claimed that she used my business card to avoid getting a traffic citation,” Ignacio said in a statement he sent to the media.
After Ignacio’s denial, Agustin also came out with this and posted it on her FB account: “I would like to apologize to everyone who was affected and offended by my post: fellow motorists, Director
Alexander C. Ignacio and his family, and the PNP institution as a whole.”
“I was just overwhelmed by that moment because I was caught in traffic for hours coming from work. I would like to make it a point that I do not know Director Alexander C. Ignacio personally. I mean no harm to anyone, and just like any Filipino motorist, (I) would like a little convenience on the road,” Agustin added.
On Tuesday, PNP spokesman Senior Wilben Mayor criticized Agustin for dragging the name of a police general in particular and the PNP organization in general into yet another controversy.
He, however, declined to give more comment.
Ignacio said he is currently in Malaysia giving a presentation for the Philippine National Police for an Aseanapol conference.
“The card which she posted is not an official PNP business card representing my office, my rank, and my designation. I am a Chief Superintendent (1-star rank) and not a Director (2-stars).”
“She is not my Executive Assistant and there is no such position in my office.”
“I do give my business card to those who request it. But it goes with the implied condition that it will NOT be used to violate laws, to shorten prescribed procedures, and for illegal gain.”
“I will not tolerate the use of my business card, the facilities of my office or the privileges of my rank for unlawful purposes, Thank you for your fair (and) accurate reporting of the facts and issues.”
(I am posting here a comment made by another model who claims she was once invited by Gen. Ignacio along with Allyza Agustin to perform in his office:
“Tan Bangz · Brand ambassador at Resorts World Manila
Sir naman kung maka deny kayo, eh last xmas party nyo kami ang kinuha nyo magperform sa office nyo kasama pa namjn si allyza, hay naku kayo talaga mga pulis ang tutulis mga sinungaling pa.”)
