Humanity Must Celebrate Eid-Ul-Adha

As the whole world marks the Feast of Eid-ul-Adha today, Oct. 26, people must realize that this is not just an Islamic religious event.

Yahoo.com gives us a clear insight on the history of Eid-Ul-Adha:

“This festival is celebrated to commemorate the sacrifice made by Ibrahim (Abrahim) in honor of the Allah. The Almighty had appeared in his dream and commanded him to sacrifice his son who was an adult. He obeyed the order and took his son, Ishmael (or Ismail) to Mount Moriah. When he was about to make the sacrifice, he was stopped by an angel. The angel gave him a ram to sacrifice to Allah. Hence, Bakr-Id is considered as the “Feast of Sacrifice”

Abraham (Ibrahim) is the Father of Humanity and Eid-Ul Adha is all about his faith and obedience to the Almighty.

We, the Children of God, join our Muslim brothers in celebrating this great day in the lives of the believers.

Happy Eid-Ul-Adha.

A Leader’s Prayer

Lord give me the courage to stand up and defend my people when they tremble in fear; the strength to lift them up when they are down; the heart to love them and care for them when they are forsaken and forgotten; and the wisdom to lead them through the dangerous labyrinths of life to a place which You have prepared for them and their children. Amen.
