I, Farm Boy! Goats Simply Love One-Year-Old Silage

Sorghum stalks and leaves which were chopped and kept in plastic silage bags over a year ago proved to be an attractive feed to our goats in the farm.
The one-year-old silage had excellent moisture and aroma which made it a palatable feed for the goats, including, the young kids and dwellings.
It was actually cattle fattening expert Arnel Corpuz who taught me how to keep the chopped Sorghum stalks and leaves in silage bags.
When kept in a bag without air, the silage goes through an anaerobic fermentation and it could be fed to cattle or goats even up to five years.
I bought the silage bags from Macondray Plastics in Davao City and it could gold up to 80 kilos of silage.
Seeing how the goats kept in just two pens for trials voraciously consumed the silage proved Arnel Corpuz right.
So, since we will be harvesting our Sorghum two weeks from now, we could now start producing silage for other farms.
