Kidapawan City with its rich volcanic soil and elevation range of 300 to 500 meters above sea level, could yet prove to be an ideal location for Soybeans production.
This was my initial assumption based on the size and quality of beans that we harvested from our farm in Luvimin, Kidapawan City with an elevation of 327 MASL.
The beans that we harvested are bigger with very minimal small beans making these ideal seed materials for our expansion program.
While I do not expect to hit our target of 2.5-metric tons per hectare because of our failure to address weeds, the quality of the beans will compensate for the low yield.
In our next cycle of planting, we will improve on our weed and pest control measures to accurately measure the Soybeans production potentials of Kidapawan City.
