In the Corporate Governance which I intend to introduce if by God’s will I would assume the Governorship of North Cotabato next year, the new agricultural paradigm will be “Complete Value Chain.”
This means that our farmers will be elevated from the age-old status of being raw materials producers to processors and marketers of high value items.
The P5/kilo Kalabasa of Alamada town will become Kalabasa Pancit Canton, live Cattle to Premium Halal Beef, fresh palay to well-milled premium Cotabato Rice, Corn and Sorghum grains to poultry, hog and animal feeds, Rubber Cuplumps to rubber boots or even motorcycle and small vehicle tires and, most of all, Copra to Virgin or Cooking Coconut Oil.
What excites me most is the idea of organizing Cotabato’s Coconut farmers and enabling them to establish processing facilities while linking them up with the lucrative foreign market for Coconut products.
(In fact, I already have a brand name – CoCo Oil for Cotabato Coconut Oil.😄)
With Complete Value Chain, we will be increasing the income of our farmers and in the process boost the Economy of North Cotabato while providing jobs in the processing sector.
As I have declared previously, in the twilight years of my life, I will pour all of my ideas, innovations and talent in establishing a micro-model of what the Philippines should be and could be.
