Let’s take a momentary break from politics. Hanap-buhay muna.
Tonight, in front of the Kidapawan City Mega Market, we will be opening the first Manok Pinoy Barbecue, Lechon and Arroz Caldo outlet.
This will be our first venture into marketing the new breed of backyard chicken which I developed five years ago to fill up the need for the “nitib manok.”
Manok Pinoy, the name of this new strain which I developed using the iconic Asian Asil or Parawakan, a breed brought in to the Southern Philippines by Arab missionaries in the 14th Century, has received good reviews from those who tasted the barbecue and litson.
What makes this pioneering endeavour special is the fact that my farm workers are my partners here.
I am giving them a 40% share from the earnings of the outlet and they are the ones managing it.
Our Lechon is only P250 per piece, the BBQ is P80 and the Arroz Caldo, which by the way uses organic rice, is only P30.
So if you’re living just around the poblacion Kidapawan, you could come at about 7 tonight and try this new product of Filipino ingenuity in animal breeding- Manok Pinoy.
If you’re far, don’t worry.
If this small venture clicks, we might set up other branches in places where you are in right now.
That’s how Jollibee and Mang Inasal started, right?
How would you know you’re in the Manok Pinoy outlet?
Well, if you see me there, that’s it.
