It’s a Go! BARMM Biggest Aqua Project Starts 2022 In Parang Town

The first and biggest Aquaculture Project in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will be established this year in Illana Bay fronting the town of Parang, Maguindanao.
The decision to choose Parang as the first of the many sites for Aquaculture Projects in the BARMM was made after an inspection conducted by a technical team from Inca Mariculture Plastics Company which fabricates and sets up circular fish cages for Bangus, Danggit and Kitong production.
The Inca Mariculture Plastics team was led by Jonathan Cabasas and was joined in the on site inspection by Parang Vice Mayor Adnan Biruar, me and my team.
Cabasas said that area is very ideal for fish cage farming since it is in a cove and protected from big waves by Bongo Island to the West.
Next week, I and the team will go back to Parang to present to the Sangguniang Bayan the proposal by a group of investors which I had organized to establish a Mariculture Project in the town complete with Ice-Making and Cold Storage Equipment and Processing Facilities.
The investors’ group will also initially engage the Cotabato Livestock Producers Association which owns a new feed mill in Kidapawan City for the production of Aqua Feeds using local materials.
The project will also involve local fisheries stakeholders who will also be taught on how to establish their own fish cages and provided with feeds and marketing support.
Earlier, Parang Mayor Cahar Ibay had offered tax incentives and support for the project noting that it would contribute to the eonomic growth of the town which hosts the biggest international port in the BARMM, the Polloc Port.
