Journey of Discovery! Ang Lahat Ng Problema Merong Ready Solutions

The 2-day journey in the Western Coastline of Mindanao facing the vast Moro Gulf ended last night with so many lessons learned and most of all limitless potentials in food production discovered.
After joining Presidential Candidate Panfilo Lacson and Vice Presidential Candidate Vicente Sotto III in a 2-day campaign sortie from March 23 to 24, I and Filipino-American farmer-scientist Rocky French proceeded to MaKiMa Corridor of Saranggani Province on March 25.
MaKiMa stands for Maasim, Kiamba and Maitum, the Western Coastal Towns of Saranggani.
Then, we continued the journey passing through the coastal towns of Sultan Kudarat – Palimbang, Kalamansig and Lebak.
Doon palang sa tatlong bayan, ang dami na naman natutunan ni Rocky na mga problema na meron namang solusyon through modern technology and a little imagination.
Halimbawa, ang common problem ng tatlong bayan ay ang over-fishing kasi wala pa silang declared Closed Fishing Season to allow the small pelagic fish to spawn and reproduce.
Ang sabi ni former Kiamba Mayor Raul Danny Martinez na ka-klase ko sa kolehiyo wala silang alternative sources of livelihood na puede maibigay sa mga mangingisda during the 3-month Closed Fishing Season.
May solusyon agad at sila din mismo ang nagbigay ng clue: Napakarami ng fingerlings at young Groupers o Lapulapu na nasa dalampasigan ng tatlong bayan.
Marami din ang mga Bangus fry na puedeng mahuli sa kanilang mga baybayin.
So, with this volunteered information, we immediately came up with a solution – raising and growing Grouper or Lapulapu fingerlings in submerged fish cages to be sold live to the big markets of Manila.
Ang mga Bangus fry naman, gagawan ng maturing pond para ang mga nahuhuli na semilya ay palalakihin into finger size or fingerlings at isa-supply sa mga fish cages na ipapatayo namin ni Rocky sa Bangsamoro Area at iba pang lugar ng Mindanao.
This is the beauty of engaging people in the field and actually seeing the areas kasi makita talaga ng isang lider kung ano ang totoong problema at makapag-isip ng tamang solusyon.
