Former OFW and Bagong Bayani Awardee Arnel Corpuz, who spent long years managing Wagyu Farms in Australia and now co-owns the cattle-fattening Adelaide River Farms in South Cotabato along with his friends will be one of the lecturers in today’s Farmers’ Forum organized by Congressman Edward Hagedorn in Aborlan, Palawan.
Arnel could not come to Palawan, however, and our initial plan of him giving the lecture via Zoom could not be done because of very weak internet signal in Aborlan.
So, what Arnel did was to send his power point material to me via email and I will be doing the presentation today.
Cattle raising, including dairy production, is ideal in Palawan because it is isolated from the bigger island of Luzon and given the strict bio-security measures implemented by the provincial government, it is a safe haven for livestock and poultry.
With proper support, both technical and financial, Palawan could be another Masbate, a province which is known as the Cattle Capital of the Philippines.
