Hongkong resident Tata Nakila Lai and her husband, Andrew Lai, hosted a dinner for me and my staff on the first night of our stay in Hongkong.
Tata, who was with her sister, Vhie Khella, son Tatu, and friend, Ligaya Austria Diez, is from Manongol, Kidapawan City who met and married to a Hongkong citizen, Andrew, while working here in China’s Special Autonomous Region.
Tata and her husband were also my guests when they came home to North Cotabato last December.
It was a sumptuous dinner which included my favorite, roasted goose, and white Chinese chicken.
Today, we will move to a hotel closer to the venue of the forum, Bayanihan Center, to prepare for the forum with North Cotabato OFWs based in Hongkong and Macau.
Kabacan OFWs led by Mhar Giron and her musical band have volunteered to perform during the forum today.
A big number of OFWs from North Cotabato, including those from other provinces in Mindanao, are expected to attend the forum which will mainly discuss programs and investment projects for overseas workers.
The forum will start at 1 p.m.
